Philadelphia Day at the Neshoba County Fair was definitely HOMETOWN PROUD DAY.

The highlight of the Hometown Proud Day – Honoring our State Softball Champions! The Neshoba Central Lady Rockets Softball Team and the Philadelphia Lady Tornadoes Softball Team. Each group brought home a State Championship Trophy.

Bill Griffis was the master of ceremonies along with the assistance of Tim Moore, Philadelphia Community Development Partnership. Door Prizes were given away including tshirts, umbrellas, gift certificates, sunglasses and more. This year four contestants competed in Minute to Win it, with a skittle challenge, cotton ball/vasaline challenge, rubberband shootout challenge, and the crowd favorite the elephant trunk challenge. Talent including singing from Callie Prince and Laken Winstead. The hula-girls from Shawn Byars dance studio, under the direction of Tina Sanders, took to the stage for one of the cutest hula-dances.

David Byars, Vice President of the Community Development Partnership of Philadelphia presented both the Neshoba Central Softball and Philadelphia Softball Teams with plaques commemorating the Championship winning seasons.
